What do you do when you're feeling insecure about your work? Not that you
ever look at something you've written and wonder how you could ever let it
go out into the world with your name on it or anything, but if you ever did,
how would you handle it?

viv:  I do not understand.  what are you saying?

andy:  I had nothing to do with the nut.  The nut was not my idea.  The nut
makes a statement that really does not hold up in the book.  Yet people love
the cover.  So what the hell.  The nut does not belong to you.  I know that,

insecurity about work r us.  I still read Sex Tips for Girls, written
actually twenty years ago, and I cringe and some parts.  It's so
embarrassing.

I don't think one can actually get over that.

I don't know. New York is wonderful. I know why *I* left New York -- I was 
1 1/2 years old and had no say in the matter. But why an adult would leave 
the place is just unfathomable.
  

    

Cynthia is quite right that New York is the greatest city on earth, and that
she shouldn't have left.

But ... maintenance of a large coterie of canines is somewhat easier on the
West Coast.

The bot I use that tracks Manhattan rents tells me that rental prices
have been dropping in the Big Apple lately. I feel very tempted.

Thanks for posting the top ten list, Cynthia.

While we seem to be listing a bit, would it be possible to get a chapter
