Yeah, that's what I thought... I wonder how much we've contributed to sea level rise simply by pumping sequestered water back into the system. Probably not a lot, but probably not trivial either.
Reminds me of that clever Medea Hypothesis, wherein multicellular life is an aberration and single-cell life tries everything to destroy it, explaining many of the mass die-offs in geoscale history. It's funny to think of us as the tricky insurgents that finally get the job done in the end.

Multicellular life was probably only possible once Earth's atmosphere oxygenated - and once that had happened the amount of energy available to life was so much greater that multicellular life was possibly inevitable. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Oxidation_Event We increasingly know the ages of the earth, over its whole history, fairly well.
