1. On New Year's eve 1983, I was on the streets of San Francisco, on Broadway and Columbus, dressed in red satin shorts and a blue satin cape passing out chapter 12 of a serial about Lucy, a clerical worker, who gains super powers after being harrassed by her bosses at Appled Missile Systems. On Broadway and Columbus, some recipients shied away from the offered Chapter 12. Others took my information absent-mindedly. Many asked questions or made comments like "This is great. Where can I get chapter 13?"
