#18 of 33: Timothy Collins Sun Sep 4 '94

Here in Pittsburgh, we sit on the stoop at night listening to what we have discovered are night hawks. They fly rapidly then dive bomb flying bugs. The wind passing through their wings creates a loud buzzing noise. -They seem to be most active as the sun passes or rises. The book says they may be moving on to Mexico for the winter........they were quiet last night, it was about 62 degrees. Reiko and I wonder if their snuggling down in groups practicing their Spanish? Do they look forward to the winter in a souther town?

Brenda sends email, suggests that we ought to attempt to "gearhear" the little buggers. I like that word...gearhear. Too bad there is no "gear" (other than close observation) that'd let you hear the animals talk!
