More saké stories when I visit the other saké breweries on Awaji. From the proportions on the shelves of the local sake-ya, I would say I am in a major shochu distilling area. There are more varieties of this high-octane form than saké. I hope to bring you the equivalent of "Red Dog" with the shochu labels for "White Wolf" and "Big Rat". I will post my label translations here, starting in February, 2005. |

Communicating with the local deities under the influence remains a very Japanese combination. The shrine maidens were selling the shrine saké alongside the amulets and other souvineers that bring good luck to all buyers. |
