Basement Recreation Room

To the right of the photo is the edge of the french doors into the basement bedroom. This room is currently being used as a child's playroom, but will most likely become my crafts room (I get a crafts room!) Outside of the window is the current owners' hot tub, which will be going with them. Maybe someday we'll replace it with one of our own. There is also a window on the wall to the left of the photo (out of the frame). The slate tile in the foreground is the entryway from the sliding glass doors to the backyard. (Geek Moment note: I took a digital photograh of this slate tile floor and modified it into the background for these web pages.) The door to the immediate right leads to the furnace, the water heater, and a small storage space.

A close-up of the wetbar. The countertop is the same slate tile that's on the floor and upstairs in the niche, the same carved rope design on the edge of the counters as the bathroom does, and the same maple cabinets that are everywhere. The current owners went to a great deal of trouble when they finished the basement to make sure it went with the decor of the rest of the house. The cohesiveness throughout the whole house is really quite wonderful.
