Interesting idea to interview somebody about something people can go and experience. Im interested in what caught your attention too.
<emilyg> I walked out of the exhibit and told the person, Im going back in. Please send in someone to bring me out in a week if Im still there. It was Zen. But enthralling. Peaceful. I sat there with my 12 year old for a full hour-and-a-half and neither of us moved. I recommend going more than once in the strongest terms. My interest was the combination of the ecological aspect with the artistic synthesis of sound and visual and even water (which represents the tones lower than the human ear can perceive) and something spiritual that I cannot yet put into words. Ill try to be more eloquent in a subsequent post rather than just gushing.
I think you have expressed yourself wonderfully!
Anybody know Bernie Krause? I was a Beaver & Krause fan, back in the day - would love to make that interview happen.

I'll see if I can find him. He should still be in our database.

While we're talking about dream guests, let me shout out Avery Dame-Griff's new book "The Two Revolutions: A History of the Transgender Internet." You might know Dame-Griff from the Queer Digital History Project (https://queerdigital.com/). I've been totally geeking out over the book and would love to hear what other WELL-folk think. https://nyupress.org/9781479818310/the-two-revolutions/

Dream Guest: Martha Wells. I want to ask if she's sick of Murderbot and would like to kill it off like Doyle killed Holmes...
Nooooooooooooo! Not Murderbot! But seriously, my dream guest from that world would be Ann Leckie or Jeff VanderMeer.
If you can find a way to connect to those folks, feel free to invite 'em!
yes!!

Hosts, please update the Well's splash page to point to the current inkwell.vue discussion. Beyond that, the inkwell.vue presence there is sort of messy. The current offering is separate from the previous offerings, and the page as a whole makes it seem that inkwell.vue is what the Well is all about. Whoever thinks about marketing for the Well should think about what the page should say. Further, the <inkwell.vue> information page should include the instructions to off-Well readers for how to participate. It's very clunky to repeat that in each topic, days after the beginning of a conversation. And by the way, right now that information page is way too wordy.
Email sent.

Maybe during a lull in finding guests, inkwell could revisit previous guests and see what they have been up to since their previous stint. I just realized that it's been 25 years since I interviewed Tim Powers, so there's a wealth of previous guests to be tapped.
While I am not a member of Inkwell, I commend the site for allowing people to exchange differing views in a dignified manner. At least that's been my experience thus far.
That's the idea! Thank you!

Just to clarify: <inkwell.vue.> is part of the WELL, a conferencing system, which means it has a number of "conferences" or forums that include "topics" for discussion - each topic is a conversation about something that is relevant to the conference where it appears. When you start participating in a conference, you become a member of that conference - and to participate, you have to be a member of the WELL. <inkwell.vue.> is exceptional in that non-members of the WELL can read a public or world-readble version - they can't post, but they can send questions or comments to hosts at the email address inkwell at well.com, and hosts will post for them. So, literally speaking, you actually are a member of Inkwell and a member of the WELL right now. We invite non-members who find the conversations compelling to join the WELL - see <https://www.well.com/join/>.

linda - i really love the idea of having followup discussions!
Is the NeuroTribes topic, <inkwell.vue.485>, still world-readable? I'm concerned about <inkwell.vue.485.161>, which includes information from a non-world-readable WeLL conference. Some of the earlier posts there also concern non-participating WeLL members, so might not be appropriate for a world-readable topic.
This lands in me as a valid concern.
<inkwell.vue.485.161> has been scribbled by its author, <karish>. If you have issues with other posts, you'll need to let us know specifically which posts, so we can evaluate.
