Hey, Jouni, did you guys have fun? Post some pix if you can (though
we probably all have bleary-red-eyed-sleep-deprived-Neil pictures some
place, I want to see yours).

I think that's a great title for a traveling photo exhibit......it
would get larger at each city it stopped in.

I get to see a rehearsal of The Goat, or Who is Sylvia? tonight at the
Goodman. Yay! Maybe Albee will be there.......

Mary (who must grade 100 or so papers, write 10 weeks worth of lesson
plans, and write a 5-week exam this weekend, and suspects this might
just not happen)

I finally got my pictures of the "Wolves in the Wall signing".

One extremely blurry Neil, one red-eye Neil.

Yeah, Jouni! Pictures!!! And news! And was that you stalking Neil
at the airport?

(Or Maure?)

Mary: Bird by bird, as the lady said. Good luck.

Did *not* mean that Maure might have been stalking Neil in the Finland
airport, actually. Not that she couldn't have pulled that off,
uber-goddess and Intrepid Ace Detective in Disguise that she is. Only
that she might have heard news from Jouni. (Although probably not just
yet.)

I'm so jealous of all of you getting to see Mr. Izzard! I watch him on
my TV....

Michelle- Congrats on the new job and the kitty! So cute!

Adriana- Congrats on record sales and Forbes things!

Dan- Congrats on the show!

Pamela- Good luck with everything!

(I guess I didn't have much else to say--only to congratulate everyone
and use oodles of exclamation points!)

notshakesmaybebacon -- If you have any plans at all to see the
Philadelphia show, I would definitely suggest you go get tickets
soonest if not before. We got ours something like two and a half
months back, and were sitting a bit more than a third of the way back
(admittedly in a rather small theatre) and the show was very sold out.
Nobody was even paying attention to the scalper wannabes on the
street.

A very, very good evening. Very responsive audience (though I could
have done with a little less fanchild screaming -- the guy is there to
-talk- to you, for god's sake; if you wanna show your appreciation,
laugh).

I keep forgetting: Americans think everything is happening in their
living rooms, or else a very loud bar. Live theatre is just a DVD when
you can't find the remote. Oh, heck, enough snarkiness, it was a
great time.

Mike - snarky comments about Americans forgetting about the really
freaking cool things going on outside their living rooms make me all
warm and fuzzy inside.

So, "Fixed Boundary" is now over. Really. I mean it this time. We're
not doing it again. Seriously.

Had a wonderful ego boost the other night when a gaggle of colleagues
showed up to see the show, most of whom had seen "Pinch" last fall. One
woman, who directed me last summer, told me it ("Pinch", not "Fixed
Boundary") was one of the most frightening things she'd seen on stage
and encouraged me to spend more time writing. I found it very amusing,
however, that she seemed to think that "that's where the money is."

Of course, she actually makes her living off of acting and directing,
so she has a bit of a different perspective of the industry than I do.

On Eddie: I was a little disappointed to find that a favorite joke
from Circle didn't make it on the DVD! When he was in SF, he had a
little bit about wondering why it wasn't The Last Breakfast. "This
orange juice is my plasma." I wonder if he was in NYC before or after
he was in SF?

Ahhh, well. The joke lives on in my mind. It has a small flat next to
the wombat in my trousers. You don't often see a flat next to a pair of
trousers, but that's just the way it is in my mind. Very new and
exciting ideas about city planning.

I am back and positively glowing and exhausted from a week in Yosemite
National Park (me n' hubby celebrating 5th anniversary!). I cannot
stress enough how absolutely sublime it was. I want to hide in a hole
from the world for a least another week. SIGH.

Will, what you said was really, really kind. You rule. And yeah,
that's me, and thanks. All of you have been so supportive, and it
means the world to us.

More journal comments while I have a minute:

Neil -- You flew from Florida to Minneapolis to sign Dreamhaven
stockpiles before flying to Europe in the same day? You are NUTS! I
hope you at least got to say hi to your wife and Maddy while you were
there.

Yay! I was at a first public reading of something! I was wondering
myself if Neil's reading of the Despair story might someday make a
recorded compilation. You did a fine job with it, Neil. And my mom
said you do a good Irish accent -- and she grew up with Irish immigrant
neighbors and relatives!

(This was New York -- of _course_ there was a large Irish contingent!
LOL!)

Incidentally, Neil showed some of us a printout of the _Entertainment
Weekly_ picture -- and it made me laugh out loud!

Adriana slipped! HAPPY 5TH ANNIVERSARY! :D

Happy Anniversary, Adriana! I'm glad you had such a wonderful time.

Mike--Thanks for the early word on the show. I, too, love snarky
comments about Americans and their appalling manners. Particularly
your snarky comments. Speaking of which, what are you working on, and
when can I go give the local bookshop more of my hard-earned in
exchange for it? Soon, I hope.

Yay! Davey in the journal!

Apparently the photo exhibit will be called Red-Eyed Demonic Lemur
With a Bad Hair Day instead of bleary-eyed-sleep-deprived-Neil, but I
kind of like that. It's catchy. And, see, Glen has more photos for it
already.

In re:The Goat, or Who is Sylvia?......Quoi? It was funny,
but.....what was the point, exactly? Was I supposed to be shocked?
Whoops. Strange show. I'm fascinated that it won the Tony last year.
I need to go read some of the reviews of the New York run & try to get
a perspective, I think.

On the other hand, Once Upon a Time in Mexico *rocks*. Johnny Depp is
making a habit out of hijacking movies these days.

OK, back to writing the Drama exam. M.

Huge hugs and kisses for your 5th anniversary, Adriana and David! I
can't think of a more perfect place to celebrate that at Yosemite.
Oddly enough, Kevin's off to Yosemite today for a week. Alas, I can't
go because it's bad business etiquette to give notice and then
disappear for a week.

Mary: Thanks for the good word for OUaTiM. I wanted to see it, but
was a weensy bit worried from the trailers that it might be
disappointing.

And to say the "lemur" word is to invoke Walker, you know. Use it
carefully.

DanW: Congrats on finishing the show with such positive feedback.

Mary -- HEAT OF FUSION AND OTHER STORIES is due out from Tor in
February. 11 stories and 13 poems (or poem-cycles), last time I
looked. The only overlap with the NESFA book is "The Lost Dialogue,"
and that happened by accident (error appending files, not noticed until
the proofread, that Beth decided to just let stand).

I also have a comics project in work -- not from the Big Guys -- that
should start appearing in December, but some details of format and such
are still being decided, and I'm holding off on general announcements
until then.

Thank you for asking.

Oh, and I got my Endless EP/CDs too! Super cool! I tried to submit the
tracks to the CD gods online via iTunes, and it said that it took the
submission, but when I played the CD at work, the tracks didn't show
up. Very bummed. Will try again later.

Oh man, I wish my wedding were that cool. My girls did look very
sylph-like, though. It's weird, David and I always felt like we had
our official catholic wedding, but we still don't feel like we've had
our faerie pagan one, which in our mind will take place in some wood in
Scotland or something. And yeah, Erynn, it is great.

Oh, and we saw a lynx in Yosemite! And then some people who worked
there tried to tell us that we didn't see a lynx, but we did, and we
have the picture to prove it. It was a moment of heart-stopping
beauty.
