Well, my copy is, and I don't _think_ I've got the one out of Lucien's
library 'cause it's inscribed to me and has a nifty little goldfish
drawn into the flyleaf in silver ink. Then again, maybe that is a copy
that never was. (Seriously, yes, it was originally, but the only copy I
see on a quick hunt through alibris and abe is one being offered by
Cold Tonnage Books in the UK. If you want that one, you could order it
online and tell Andy Richards he can bring it to Boskone for you in
February and I'll mail it to you from here.)

(Muchmuchmuch to catch up on. Soon. Hugs all 'round.)

Just a quick one. NO! You say. The world is coming to an end! Holley is
sending a short post!

I read in the paper today where Keanu Reeves is planning to do this and that
and one of the items mentioned is the occult comic book Constantine movie
that's being done. Anybody hear anything about this like who he plays? When
it's out etc?

Eddie was great!

Holley - Reeves is playing Constantine himself. Hopefully, it will
never come out.

Heh, I was at that show too, Glen. And I will confirm that he was
great indeed (Eddie, I mean. Not that Glen wasn't great, but I didn't
see Glen). I'll be there again on Saturday, as well.

I'm actually very much looking forward to seeing Reeves as
Constantine. Just sayin'. I believe it'll be out next summer.
There's a write-up about it in the new *Details*, in the form of a
decent interview with the actor (I don't get why everyone knocks him so
hard. He seems like such an intelligent guy. And he's chosen rather
varied and interesting roles through his career...).

Hullo.

Had couple of minutes to spare and just wanted to drop in and say hi and
tell that I'm still well and functioning and generally lurking around here.

So, hi all.

Oh, I also posted a photo of Neil and me that was took during his visit on
these northern wastes...

you can find it in...

Jouni -- Well aren't you a cutie! Great pic; thanks for posting it!

(Neil looks great, too, but that almost goes without saying.)

Speaking of photos at signings, I just got a nice note from NYC Lucy
(http://www.luciar.com/) thanking me for sending her a double of the
pic I took of her with Himself.

Someday we've got to get her on here. :)

...I never did finish posting about Book Country, did I? Busy me. Ah
well. I hope all Neil's little gifts from that weekend have gotten
delivered.

Hope to catch up a little later....

Oh, I hope Michaela from the Journal is the German Michaela who used
to post here!* I wonder if her husband's met Neil by now?

*Before my time. But I've read all the "back issues" of this topic,
and remember how she was going to try to get to Edinburgh this year (I
think), and how her hubby, now that he had read some of Neil's stuff,
was inclined to go with her this time.

Equation: Work to exhaustion + travel to different climate + play too
hard and smoke too much = sick.

Am hacking and sniffling my way through my first couple days of
freedom in between the "official" ending of my job and the "unofficial"
one (two weeks of training, etc. I agreed to come back and do after
this week off, because I'm a weenie).

But just wanted to say that I had an utterly wunnerful time visiting
the once and future goddess Maure in her native environment with
Walker, finally meeting the lovely Tara in that *fabulous* cafe!, and
getting to see and spend time with other friends. I was *so* excited
that there were still so many glorious autumn leaves on the trees, and
I got to see some snow! Mother Nature even made my joy complete with a
Real Chicago Thunderstorm!

I was ever so sorry that we couldn't quite manage to find Thingie
"Colt" at the train station just on his way in and our way out (on the
way to the airport).

But I suppose that might have taken the trip into the realm of
hubristic perfection.

Many thanks to Maure for housing, feeding and carting Walker and me
around, while we visited. And of course to the Redhead Miss Megan for
putting up with us, blocking her bedroom door in the morning and all.

*carefully distant air kisses!*

*cough, sniffle*

(I think I'll go have some comfort Flushy Plush mawshmallows, now.)

Pam, you rule, you must be a Homestar fan! (I miss that site... but
it isn't much good w/o speakers, and mine are currently being used for
the Choir-song project. And I can't get the office sound card to work
w/ my headphones! Grrr!)

Glad you had a good time, but sorry you're sick. Bleah. Cuddle up
with some hot chocolate and a good book, and get well soon! ((hugs))

mmm . . . I think I am almost done laughing my innards out. Ooo, not
quite. Ok. Deep breaths.

Walker, brilliant, brilliant plan.

Michelle, you are an absolutely devious darling, and I can't begin to
thank you enough. I haven't laughed this hard in a while. I don't know
why I have the reputation I do -- you are all much better at this game
than I am.

Neil. I almost wish you had been subjected to my terrible singing now.
It would have served you right. Just you wait. I'll think of
something.

Thank you very much, all three of you.

Hiho. Hope this finds everybody well. ^_- I'm humming along, sleep
deprived and tired, but surviving.

Pam: Hang in there girl! *hugz* Seems like you had loads of fun though
(and was up to no good), which is fantastic. At least you have
Rhapsody to keep you company at home while you recover... ^_-

Jouni: That's one goofy picture. It's awesome! ("Like a hundred
billion hot dogs, sir." ... By the way, v. jealous of everybody who got
to see Eddie live. Was a total dork myself and missed it. -_-;)

Maure, thanks for sharing and posting pictures. ^_- Walker, weren't
you *cold*??

Dan: It was cool to see you at the reading. I swear, next time, we'll
actually chat! ^_- (Sorry... was catching up with a college friend I
hadn't seen in person for a long time. ^_^;)

hi, Everyone!

Guess what?! One of my short plays was chosen for the Bloomington
Playwright's Project 12 Plays of Christmas (Dark Alley). This marks my
first professional sale! It goes into production this month and they're
actually paying me for it, albeit not much. This is a very strange and
foreign concept to me. I kind of like it.

I'm also working as a Stage Manager for the Mainstage Production
Christmas Eve, an adaptation of a Nikolai Gogol short story. It's a lot
of crazy fun, and we have a good cast, not to mention the director was
my Bestest Friend in elementary school and junior high. We used to
write and perform plays together as kids, and are now reunited through
this play. Like coming full circle in a way. And, most importantly, it
gets me away from the computer once in a while, forcing me to be
social, so not to turn into one of the creepy neighbors from The Burbs.
All is well.

When did everything in theater become computerized? I step away from
theater for a few years, and come back, expecting switchboards and
lit-up buttons, to find computers and digital technology! Now all I
have to do is use a mouse and push a button for the cues, basically. I
guess it *has* been awhile....

Pamela- I hope your cold gets better soon! *Lights yummy healing
incense for you*

Jouni- You are awesome.

Off to kick the Lady Bugs out of the house.

Mimi - I was nice to meet you too, however briefly. And yes, next time
we will actually chat. Old and absent friends will be banned from the
room until all other social obligations have been fulfilled. *grin*

Erynn - Congrats! You'll have to send the the play at some point so I
can read it!

In other news, "Construction Cabaret" is in previews and we're going
to be doing some retinkering of the show Tuesday before the second half
of the Preview run. at this point it's fun, but not belly-laugh
hysterical so we need to up the amperage.

Also, saw "Love, actually" last night and it was fantastic. Only a
couple of missteps which are forgivable in a movie so well written,
acted, and directed. and yes, I was weeping heavily by the end of the
movie.

Neil - You may be old, but you're still a hep cat in my book. Happy
birthday!
