Special lobsters. 05dec30.

Two magnificent lobsters, from Ise Penninsula up the coast a ways from Awaji. End of year specials, and only $35...each.

View from my apartment. 05nov27.

View from my apartment. Not a lawn in sight. Each tiny plot of land expresses a philosophy of use in extreme juxtaposition. A tidy arrangement of flowers for your viewing pleasure is next to what resembles your junk drawer in the kitchen or garage. Any unused scrap of land defaults into a vegetable garden for lettuce, daikon, etc. The neighborhood has a comfortable, lived in feel. Except for those damned yapping dogs.

Tree and burial site. 05dec10.

Along a road, a family burial plot. The stone markers and the winter tree frame the country side at rest from the long seasons of planting and harvesting.

'Stars and Bars dress. 06jan15.

06jan15. Reintepreting the Wild West for display on young Japanese women. Can you imagine walking down the streets of Denver or Boulder in this getup? It has certainly caught the attention of Mr. Sato as well as myself on a cold Sunday afternoon. The fascination with America in Japan continues, including reconstructing the near-sacred symbols of my country refashioned into alluring body drapery, including faux Native American jewelery, rugged jeans jacket and cheesy white leopard cowboy hat.
