National Directory of Drug Abuse and Alcoholism Treatment and Prevention Programs

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration operates a searchable data base of treatment and prevention programs - National Directory of Drug Abuse and Alcoholism Treatment and Prevention Programs.  This resource will greatly assist referrals across the United States and its territories.  Search criteria can include city, state, type of treatment, setting and reimbursement options among other variables.   The data base was developed from national surveys of treatment programs and is quite comprehensive.  It included all public and private programs in my hometown but not private practitioners.  Try it out and let us know what you think.
