Love is sadness
and clammy sick grief
Anguish and pain
can't get relief
Love is badness
Love is madness
Love is sadness
Love is anger
And white-hot hate
Cannot forgive you
It is too late
Bash and maim!
Hurt and kill!
Love is anger
Love is destruction
Wreck everthing in sight
Break the foundation
Put out the light
Burn all bridges
Extinguish all hope
Love is destruction
Love is release
After the pain
Slice the wrist
Blow out the brain
Jump in front of
A speeding train
Love is release
Robbie Hatley, Friday April 10, 1998
Like my poem "Arctic", I wrote this in about 10 min, while sitting at one of those little tables against the south wall of the dining room of Burger King in Larwin Square in Tustin, CA, around 8AM on the morning of Fri. Apr. 10, 1998. I was in a truly psychotic mood when I wrote this, and the gateway between my concious mind and the darkest reaches of my subconscious mind opened wide.
Wheras "Arctic" is about the lonliness of Loving what you can't have, "Antarctic" is about the jealousy, anger, blind rage, hate, homicide, and suicide which can arise from love affairs gone wrong.
Needless to say, this poem is psychologically toxic, and not for anyone who already has tendencies toward violence or suicide. That is why I put a pre-load warning detainment on this file.
