REFLECTION

I Look in the window and see my reflection
It stares back in silent contemplation
I focus on the eyes, plumbing the depths
seeking the soul.

I fear for what I might find there

will it be terrible to behold?
will I even understand it
or be left only in the cold?

Still I probe with an anticipation

my heart wanders to a race
as my forehead finds perspiration
that makes its way to my face

Lost, I find me

swimming in the depths
my soul surrounds me
In a pool of my thoughts, life and death

A sound breaks

the silence sending my eyes running
shattering the depths of the pool
and my Soul recedes within
to find the pale white moon.
