Everything happening behind the Visitor's view of the web site we called the 'Backoffice.' We used a number of custom Java programs to manage our Catalog, our fulfillment, and our e-mail marketing campaigns. We also used a lot of 'grunt' work at the Excel and shell scripting levels.
